Alaska Cruise

Southeast Alaska’s Inside Passage

A look at this map will show you just what a small part of Alaska we saw on the cruise: just the southeast “tail” of the state. Although this was really a destination cruise, and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute we spent on shore, we were not exactly sailing through boring sights.

Judy’s Journal: Tuesday

A full day of traveling gave us opportunity to explore, eat, drink champagne. Yes, champagne, but just one of the three bottles Sara, KC and I won in the casino. They had given Jim casino money as part of his father’s day gift and mid afternoon we set out for the casino. He redeemed the tokens and found his favorite slot machine to lost $20.00 in. We found a game to play and with $10.00 worth of quarters each, proceeded to entertain ourselves, and before long, a good portion of the casino. Shrieking with laughter we took two hours to lose all our money, but won three tokens for bottles of champagne. The pictures recording the event speak for themselves! We had a blast, and tired and happy went to our cabin for cheese (still plenty from the cheese tray) and champagne.

Later after an 8:00 supper we returned tired and full to the cabin for the night. Sara, KC and Mark found a jazz band and spent a while relaxing, but gambling (and laughing) took a toll and our second night aboard rocked us to a peaceful sleep.
