Würzburg. A city that has some “special memories” for the two of us. Back in the 90s, early in the period where we were comfortable leaving Sara-Tori and K.C. on their own, Judy saw an ad where we could get a flight to Brussels and three nights in a nice hotel for a really low price. So off we went. (Parts of that trip are described on another page of this website.) We split our three nights and took a week to drive around without plans and see some other sights we hadn’t visited before, one of them being a night in Würzburg. We stopped at the tourist information center, asked for an inexpensive place for the night after visiting the Residenz, and ended up across the river in a family run establishment near a campground.
We had dinner al fresco, and Judy, who still isn’t a big wine drinker, decided to try the house wine flight. When that led to some difficulties walking straight, we discovered that we had to walk through a wedding reception where the guests were in full party mode, just to get to our room.
